Our research is interdisciplinary and spans the fields of awesome material science and engineering. Also, our expertise mainly lies in the development of glasses and ceramics. Thus, our research opens the field of transparent, hazardous element free small birefringent oxide glasses based on the traditional melt-quenched technique and significantly contributes to the forthcoming “SMART GRID” network society. One key objective of our current research is to develop a new advanced oxide glass and fiber materials and high-performance polarization controlling optical devices, such as lens and sensor applications. Our research group works on a variety of aspects from material design, syntheses and processing, fabrication and testing based on experimental approaches.
