The movies for three types named I, II, and III introduce the oxidation processes of a mixture of Cu concentrate and silica sand attached on the Pt-13%Rh/Pt thermocouple filament. The experiment has done in Ar flow with air or O2 gas blow shortly by a needle located near the sample. In the type II as an optimized condition, the temperature of the sample rapidly increased up to > 1300 ºC within 1 s due to chalcopyrite ignition. The Cu–Fe–S matte melt spread finally along the filaments and FeO–SiO2 slag melt is located between the filaments.
